Vaginal dryness and intimate discomfort: an underestimated functional need
Natural hormonal fluctuations, typical of perimenopause and menopause but also observable during fertile age, pregnancy or hormonal therapies, are associated with reduced lubrication and elasticity of the vaginal mucosa. The literature shows that this often underestimated condition translates into functional symptoms such as dryness, burning, itching and dyspareunia, with a direct impact on the quality of life and psychological wellbeing of the women affected.
This is a cross-cutting clinical area, affecting women in menopause, of fertile age, in the postpartum period or prone to recurrent irritation, which calls for targeted rather than generic formulation solutions.
The Revaginal line: formulation technology to support the vaginal mucosa
Revaginal was created as an industrial response to this need, with an approach that combines CE-marked medical devices and a food supplement in a single, coherent line. The formulation rationale is based on ingredients with documented benefits, such as hyaluronic acid, for its hydrating and lubricating action on the mucosa, and lactic acid, which supports rapid rebalancing of the physiological vaginal pH.
These are complemented by 18-beta-glycyrrhetinic acid, vitamin E, polycarbophil and botanical extracts such as aloe, chamomile and calendula, selected for their soothing and protective action. The line is available in several formats, ovules, single-dose gel, foam, vaginal douche and intimate wash, as well as a tablet supplement, to adapt to different contexts of use and needs throughout a woman’s life.
A closer look at the Revaginal product line
CE-marked medical device based on hyaluronic acid, polycarbophil, lactic acid, vitamin E and 18-beta-glycyrrhetinic acid, designed to help with non-specific vaginal dryness and atrophic vaginitis. The formulation is designed to rebalance pH and support the normal vaginal microflora, and is compatible with concurrent antifungal or antibacterial therapies and with condoms.
Medical device in single-use 5 ml applicators, formulated with hyaluronic acid, lactic acid and botanical extracts such as aloe vera, blackcurrant, lavender and chamomile. It is designed to hydrate and soothe the vulvovaginal mucosa and can also be used alongside hormonal or antibiotic therapies.
A rinse-free cleansing foam enriched with boric acid and lactic acid, designed for daily intimate hygiene even without water. The formulation supports external pH rebalancing and can be useful when travelling, during sports activities or when away from home.
A CE-marked medical device for deep intimate hygiene, formulated with hyaluronic acid and lactic acid. It is designed to support the vulvovaginal mucosa and rebalance pH, and is indicated for dryness, irritation or recurrent intimate discomfort.
A cosmetic cleanser for daily intimate hygiene, formulated with oat, chamomile, aloe, tea tree oil and lactic acid. Its pH of 4.5 is designed to respect the balance of the vaginal microflora with everyday use.
A food supplement in coated tablets based on alpha lipoic acid and magnesium. The formulation is designed as nutritional support in cases of pelvic tension and discomfort, including in relation to complex conditions such as vulvodynia, always as a complement to, and not a substitute for, medical advice.
